Areas of Expertise
Exceptional Young People
I have always been a high-achieving person (I was the valedictorian of both my high school and university graduating classes), but still struggled to reach my full potential due to a lack of direction and wisdom. Today, I have found purpose and success in my faith, family, friends, and work. I am passionate about helping other exceptional young people find their own paths toward satisfaction and peace in life, overcoming challenges with emotional dysregulation, stress, executive functioning, focus, and motivation.
Trauma / Grief
I know that life is hard and the world is filled with suffering, pain, and sometimes evil. People who have experienced the depths of life each require an approach that is sensitive to their unique situation--there is no "one-size-fits-all" approach to trauma. For example, some people will need gentle space and time to process their experiences, but others will need physical movement and a focus on the future. There is hope, and together you can pursue healing, find peace, and grow into your full potential.
Boundaries / Challenging Relationships
Difficult or abusive relationships can be extremely disruptive, detrimental, or downright dangerous to a person's mental health. Many times, overcoming these challenging situations requires support from someone who understands the realities of such scenarios. I have walked beside people on journeys of healing from true narcissistic abuse by family members or spouses, as well as other difficult relationship issues.
Marital / Pre-Marital Counseling
I believe that marriage is a fundamental, sacred institution that can be beautiful and life-giving. It is also hard work. Whether you are preparing for marriage, or facing the inevitable challenges that all couples face in communication, stress, or intimacy, I consider it an honor to help you navigate and strengthen your bond.
My Approach
Our world is changing rapidly and I believe ancient/traditional wisdom and modern knowledge are both essential for navigating these times and living well. That means that I'm well-versed in modern psychology and evidence-based therapy practice, but I also recognize the value of things that human beings have traditionally understood are essential for human flourishing (exercise/movement, nutrition/fasting, sleep, nature, community, purpose, and religion/spirituality, etc.). Clients are sometimes surprised that their therapist is asking about these factors, but the truth is that good scientific research has shown those interventions are sometimes the most effective way to improve mental, physical, and spiritual health--which are all essential dimensions of human wellness. I'm also trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), but our work together isn’t defined by certain techniques. I build a therapeutic relationship with each person and his/her unique circumstances determine the best approach.

I provide counseling for children, adults, and couples online via a secure video/telehealth system. Telehealth is a more convenient option for many and allows me to serve people anywhere in New Jersey. Based on geography and need, I sometimes meet with clients in-person.
